LEAD TEACHER AT THE AMERICAN SCHOOL FOUNDATION MEXICO CITY

Solo taught a classroom of twenty-four English Language Learners. Created an original, rigorous curriculum that included access points for students with a wide range of English language proficiency.

August 2021 - June 2022

THIRD GRADE ELA TEACHER AT BROOKLYN PROSPECT CHARTER SCHOOL

Sole teacher in a third grade ELA classroom. Currently teaching writing, phonics, and ELA to two sections of 30 students. Planning ELA for the grade as well as working with learning specialists, occupational therapists, and school social workers to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of students returning to school during a pandemic.

August 2019 - June 2021

SECOND GRADE TEACHER AT BROOKLYN PROSPECT CHARTER SCHOOL

Co-taught a second grade classroom with 30 students across racial and socio-economic lines, with differing academic proficiency. Planned and executed ELA classes for the class, and created original hands-on, inquiry based lessons for the entire grade. Taught Cognitively Guided Instruction math lessons, taught a dierentiated small group in Achievement First math curriculum, and ran a Fountas & Pinnell Guided Reading group.

August 2018 - June 2019

FIFTH GRADE ELA TEACHER - BROOKLYN PROSPECT CHARTER SCHOOL

Opened the first fifth grade at BPCS. Co-taught a fifth grade ELA classroom. Adapted Expeditionary Learning curriculum to best fit needs of a gen ed class and an ICT class, created original inquiry based lesson plans exploring human rights and advocacy, worked with Cognitively Guided Instruction curriculum, and ran a Fountas & Pinnell Guided Reading group. Participated in a SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) group for the duration of the school year to collaborate with colleagues in creating a more equitable school community.

STUDENT TEACHER - SMITH COLLEGE CAMPUS SCHOOL

Student taught in a fifth grade classroom at a prestigious private school. Wrote and taught original lessons, worked with Investigations math curriculum and Words Their Way spelling curriculum. Took over one math unit in its entirety and taught spelling for the duration of my time there.

Student taught in a fourth grade classroom in a public school. Wrote and taught original lessons, created an original social studies unit that corresponded with state standards, and worked with the Investigations math curriculum and the Lucy Calkins Writing workshop curriculum.

Managed logistics and mentored high school coaches running an afterschool sports program in Springfield, MA. Handled program logistics, parent interactions, and behavioral incidences with elementary school students.

Worked to adapt three STEM curriculum unit plans to an afterschool program. Sat in on professional development sessions for teaching artists and an August Wilson Monologue Competition program session. Shadowed program coordinators as they worked with teaching artists and school administrators.
